Hi #postchat friends. Who can share a link to morph cut or fluid morph fails that actually aired. I recall one where a person behind a reporter just vanishes in thin air, but can't find it anymore. Thanks!

Fun quick AE trick: use the Time Displace effect to turn a simple text move into something more interesting. Here Time Displace is linked to a Gradient Ramp, with added Tint + CC Composite of the original on top, all time-displaced a second time with different settings.

@FakeGreenDress Yes. That works for the settings. You confirm one needs to go to comp settings to find details. I’ll stop hunting for a quicker way. Thanks.

@animotion_nl That's been replaced by the quick-switch menu at the bottom of the comp window. For the detailed comparison, you have to open comp settings.

@FakeGreenDress Keyboard shortcut to get to the 3D Renderer tab in Sequence Settings please? Previous you could click on the button in top right. Gone now. Now I go via sequence settings(CMD/CRL+K). Prep'ing a course on 3D in Ae and am missing that button. (Tried modifiers..)

Things that bring a smile to your face: random follower/fan sends pics of looking at vinyl and stumbles across one that I worked on (and a career high moment for me too). Cc: @Cimcie #johndenver #rogernichols

Don't worry about having your graphic the same size as the corner pin plane. The script I'm calling Power Pin Plus Calculate for @AdobeAE will dial in the correct aspect ratio and give you options to further scale and offset along the corner pin plane.

Going to be very handy. But shouldn't this be implemented by Adobe?

@Beatlejase Thanks for your insights. Now I have to see it :-P. Als a light Bowie fan (our dog has his name), and a music documentary affectionado, I want to see the old/restored footage. And a bad movie can teach me (and my students) a lot. Often more then a good one.

This weekend I watched the recent David Bowie documentary/film 'Moonage Daydream'. As a long time Bowie fan (and slight Bowie historian/nerd) I could barely make my way through (in fact, I stopped w/15 minutes to go; I couldn't take another second). No sense of chronology whatsoever. This was strike one. Then, a repeated theme of referencing a period of time (say, 1973 Ziggy or '75 Fame-era) but playing music of '77/'78/'80. Strike two. This is what kills a documentary for me, instantly. And was there a story? Was there a point? David changed a lot. That came thru (and that's also, even to the casual fan, obvious) but after 2+ hours (and I didn't finish) I don't know what they were trying to say. Strike three. I had read so many great things about this pic and had high hopes. I found it exhausting, frustrating and pointless. Side note: the restored archival footage (particularly concert footage from late 70s, along with a handful of familiar BBC interviews) has been cleaned and preserved to perfection. Some of the footage looked so clean and modern, you really felt immersed by it; so there was that. C- as a film, and that's being generous.
