If Suvendu can defeat TMC, which he can, why has he not been given any org power? Gujarati Hindu Modi preferred Gujarati Muslim Yusuf Pathan over Bengali Hindu Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. I see strong similarities in choice except that role of ethnicity and religion are reversed in identity politics. Why do i say Modi preferred Pathan over Adhir? The BJP candidate he fielded in Bahrampur was the strongest possible, and eventually weaned enough Hindu votes from Adhir compared to 2019 LS to defeat him. He doesn't field strongest possible BJP candidates everywhere, deliberately bungled candidate selection in Srirampur, Diamond Harbor, Arambagh, Asansol. But he fielded strongest possible candidate in Bahrampur. For Modi it is Gujarat above all: Adani to Yusuf Pathan
