For all interested in the state of the field when it comes to extracellular matrix remodeling in the maternal heart, check out this new article in AJP-Heart from my MEng student, @ankendall44. Thank you to the investigators in this space that have provided the key studies for us to discuss. We look forward to more studies in this space. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42023424/

The end of an era for the Collins lab. Long standing member, Emily Schulman-Geltzer @emibrockn23 leaves to pursue an MD/PhD at UofL. Emily helped get the Collins lab up and running and helped keep it running smoothly. In addition, Avery Kendall @ankendall44 graduates from their Bioengineering degree. I am happy to have had the pleasure of working with them both. Excited to see their future progress!

I am so very proud of Avery. They have worked so hard and diligently during their bioengineering cooperative student placement in my lab. I am also super happy to welcome them back to the lab as masters student. Everyone needs an Avery in their lab. Looking forward to seeing you get another award

When I received the @HeartKentucky Live Fierce Award last year, I felt compelled to do more to promote awareness of women’s cardiovascular health, not only in Kentucky, but in the US as a whole. Thanks to @ajpheartcirc for considering this piece and to the reviewers for their constructive feedback.

We are saddened by the passing of President Jimmy Carter, who contributed to the Voyager Golden Record currently traveling through interstellar space. Carter's message of peace continues to reach across the "vast and awesome universe."

H1B VISAs are incredibly important for biological/med science in US. There aren't enough PhD's to work at that level (post-docs) in US. We need foreigners -and they get better training in US! And it's good for our international relationships. They understand US better #H1B #h1b
