@ankushdharkar one of the questions a candidates during a interview last year - “Do we have to deploy frontends on the job?” 😭

❤️At @RealDSA_, we go through DSA as a software engineer would (not how an interview-monkey should). No rote-learning, no tricks, none of that nonsense. Pure engineering subject. We don't rely on pattern-matching, we do problem-solving. If someone with no background in computer science or DSA can learn these concepts in just a few months, then why are you, a person with a 4-year CSE degree, struggling?

I really want to thank @RealAnkush for B+ Tree task in @RealDSA_. Because of it, I don't see databases as black boxes anymore. I actually understand how they store information now, and I am even thinking about building a DB from scratch from FIRST PRINCIPLES APPROACH as a project

> Never saw a person who was good at coding interviews but not good at real-world engineering. Gotta see more people then. There are a LOT of them. Look up online. > Grinding leetcode is the only way to work with world class engineers at top companies. Absolutely untrue. > I'm sure you grinded coding questions to get into Bloomberg :) You are surely wrong my friend. Ask people who know me. I managed to get into Amazon, Hotstar, Bloomberg, and Meta, mostly from my knowledge from 2nd-year DSA. Did NOT grind Leetcode, seemed like a waste of time. That's what most people get wrong. They never study DSA, they rote-learn. That's what I challenge them on in RealDSA.com :)

The term "interview monkey" (or LeetCode monkey) describes grinding patterns and memorizing solutions to pass big-tech interviews while often struggling with production debugging, ownership, ambiguous requirements, or shipping real systems. The screenshot fairly notes the label can be dismissive—interview prep *is* a skill the current system rewards, and many strong engineers grind strategically. ankushdharkar's core point with RealDSA_ isn't dismissing prep. It's that deep first-principles understanding (B+ trees, real engineering) beats pure pattern-matching for building adaptable engineers. Cherry-picking either side misses the nuance: use LeetCode for the gate, but pair it with fundamentals to actually thrive after you get in.

@Harmonic_Hearts There won’t be any such thing. I don’t promise things I know nothing about. Too many people hide behind discomfort disguised as self-proclaimed ‘introvert’, ADHD, imposter syndrome and what not (they don’t even know what it really means)
