@dangotegroup Your corporate press releases are no longer sustainable in the face of so much pain, suffering, and untimely deaths. We demand immediate accountability.
Given the kleptocratic nature of public leadership in Nigeria, it is clear that citizens must take the lead to demand accountability, greater development, and mandatory social responsibility.
On that note, we urgently demand that you address the following:
What is the status of the Okada driver who was with Ruth? We need a public update on all victims from the past year. Every life matters, not just those that make headlines. Are you providing adequate medical care? If Nigerian hospitals are insufficient, these victims must be flown out for treatment immediately.
What is your plan to ensure all of your drivers are properly trained and licensed? Have you halted transportation services until this is effectively addressed?
What measures are you taking to make major highways safer for your own truckers and other road users? The lives of your employees are also at risk.
Do you have a clear policy on work-life balance for your truckers to prevent them from being overworked, undercompensated, and put in unsafe or unhealthy conditions?
It is time for Nigerians to rise. @AlikoDangote is celebrated as the "richest man in Africa," but what is the true cost of that wealth? We will not allow this reality to be ignored.
Rest in peaceful power, Dear Ruth Otabor. @unusualphyna
