Humbled to win the Ken Casellas Award, named after The West’s long-time former chief cricker writer, at last night’s WA Cricket Awards. Been an enjoyable summer covering WA and Perth Scorchers’ hat-trick of titles and the return of Test cricket at Optus Stadium.
@flagmantlefc But we could have had an injury in the first minute. So he had to have been able to come on if that had happened. And played out the whole game. He should have started on the ground.
@flagmantlefc I do not understand why he was the sub. If he couldn’t run out the game he couldn’t have been the sub. Crazy not to start him on the ground.
@TimGossage@freodockers The fact that he had made it so clear he wanted to leave also didn’t help. His carry on of regularly yelling at teammates and a lack of second efforts doesn’t endear you to supporters.
The great Ken Casellas enjoys a juice in the Winners Bar after the win of Simply Shaz… we can’t for the article about this win, Ken!

@DamoMK I don’t think any club wanted to match North’s huge offer. We will miss him on and off field, a good culture guy, versatile, elite defender and with Pearce always a danger of an injury it is the thing that worries me most this season.
Nadal has more titles on HC than Djokovic has on clay and grass, COMBINED.
Nadal also has the most titles on clay in the sport's history.
The greatest and most complete player to ever grace the game. 🐐
@latikambourke The reference to Camilla and being dangerous is in there. In the chapter about the wedding he refers to her potentially being “less dangerous” in the context of blaming her for the PR spin doctor.
But overall the book is far more contextual than his interviews and I almost think the promo interviews were unwise and unnecessary given how much damage they caused and words he said that aren't in the book - eg Camilla being 'dangerous'.
OK finished. It's excellent. Book Harry is so much more relatable and likeable compared to Interview Harry and you can't help but feel enormous compassion for his trauma and suffering.
As with every year many good players leave the game forever but I’m not sure there have been many more underrated than Mundy (especially in the east). To play that well for that long with all that travel etc is quite remarkable
I wonder if Amiss is a key part of the club's thinking about getting Jackson. Lobb often has to be the #1 fwd & Jackson hasn't shown he can do that. But alongside Amiss for the next decade (& Tabs for a few years) it could work.
Still concerned about the cost but #inBellyWeTrust
@GilWritesHere@freodockers I’m completely on board in theory, love him getting the experience. A bit concerned that he had 4 disposals in the WAFL 2 weeks’ ago.
