@sarahjwd@jamie2034@chrisdysonHT@PaulGarvey4@kateowbridge Secondary schools are required to take into account the best interest of the individual child when deciding on year group. They also have to consider the fact that the child has been educated out of year up until that point. It’s pretty hard to justify skipping a year is right.
Discovered 3 new children had a delayed start because they were summer born and are therefore out of year group. Anyone else think this is becoming a growing trend or is it just coincidence ? #SLT@chrisdysonHT@PaulGarvey4@kateowbridge
A proud dad and his week old daughter. After this weekend’s classical twitter storm, a major thought is of how much I would like to see classics and the study of the ancient world thriving as a discipline when this little one is ready to try it.
@Nazmameah1@Acorn1972@jpembroke Sorry, that should have been they can’t delay until the September they’re due to enter Y1 (Autumn and Spring born children).
@Nazmameah1@Acorn1972@jpembroke Compulsory school age is ‘the term after a child turns 5’. For Autumn and Spring born children this is part way through their Reception year. For Summer borns this is the September they’d normal enter Y1 but they can apply to start Reception at this stage instead.
@Nazmameah1@Acorn1972@jpembroke Autumn and Spring born children would be expected to join Reception part way through the year if they waited until CSA to start school. They can’t delay until the following September when they’re due to start Reception. It does happen but only in a limited number of cases.
This is my last week teaching KS1 English for @OakNational and I've enjoyed every lesson ✍️ It has been such a pleasure to teach so many enthusiastic writers all over the country! Now time to help with @OakNational's KS1 Science and History lessons for September #LearnWithOak
@janet_gardner1 Year 6 pupils at Bedford have returned today. The other schools listed only have pupils aged 13-18 and therefore wouldn’t return until September according to the government guidelines (they are also all continuing to teach remotely).
can someone explain why prep & fee paying public schools (Eton,Harrow,Winchester,Bedford,Westminster)wont be going back tomorrow..hmmm..could it be because they are the children of a different class & therefore are far too precious to take a risk with! Doesnt every child matter?
Her Grade 4 test was cancelled due to #COVID19 , and this was 1 of her pieces. This is my #talented daughter. I’m biased I know, but it amazes me how much she has achieved after only 2 years in proper #piano lessons 💫 #youngmusicianyoutu.be/EHFVWVtB92g
Can you imagine how good Netflix for kids would have looked in the 90s...here are the choices I’m giving Oscar over the next few days. Raccoons a hit today. What needs to go in the coming third row of suggestions?#forgotRoundtheTwist
