@annamacp Well, the April 2021 report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics says that the current number of all STEM jobs is about 9.96 million—which is about 6.1% of all jobs in the US. Hardly overwhelming.

Just read another science education article that opened with the "continued need for STEM professionals in the knowledge economy." Can't we just stop and look at how many STEM professionals we actually need? It's far fewer than most people think.
