@discodave75 Perhaps also seen as worse/ more evil for women to not care for children, rather than stepfathers, who would not be expected to step into caring role?

Is there a reason it's always wicked stepmothers and NOT stepfathers? I'm trying to think of an obvious example of that trope and I'm coming up short. Is it just because of male primogeniture's prevalence when these archetypes were established, or is it something else?
