Honestly It shouldn't even matter. Disagreement is inevitable but who is disagreeing matters. When Vladimir Nabokov critiques Fyodor Dostoevsky's form, it is not merely 'one reader’s opinion.' It is a master craftsman critiquing another master craftsman, and that's worth considering and even accepted. But when a fan of R.F. Kuang finds Dostoevsky mid, one has to just carry on thinking that a wooden sculpture and a tree are same to the squirrels.
