Caitlin Clark & Paige Bueckers are tied as the leading scorers for Team USA through three qualifying games for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 👏
37 points for them each.
@anonace7@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 You might like one player more than another, that's fine with me. But to argue that players who are infinitely more prepared for the WNBA than amateur players aren't ready or need more development is simply wrong.
@anonace7@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT. The comparison is with the NCAA. You say NCAA players are ready but professional players aren't ready.
(And the difference between the WNBA and the Euroleague is much smaller than you're suggesting)
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 anyways, this is my last reply. im not even bothered going back and forth anymore trying to explain the exact same thing over and over again. none of this will matter when azzi gets drafted no1 next month and proves it herself.
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 you are missing the point. yes euroleague is professional, but the w is a whole different level. being in that pro league doesn’t mean the transition will be instant. thats why development still matters, especially at her young age.
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 playing overseas doesnt automatically make someone more draft ready either. many young players there have smaller roles and fewer reps. previous no1 picks like paige, cc, and ab showed how college gives prospects the usage, pressure, and experience that translate well to the w.
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 if you read my last comment, i said awa is a talented player with real potential, but immediate impact matters to dallas. college is often the smoother path to the draft because players face elite competition, structured coaching, and systems designed to prepare them for the w.
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 also, while awa is a great player with lots of potential, a team like dallas with a win-now mentality would want someone ready to make an immediate impact. awa would need more time to develop, but she still has a very promising future. much respect to her as a player!
@javilsantos@lungelo_gasa@My_Fckn_SZN@sammygee1400 just because awa is playing against pros doesnt automatically mean she will transition smoothly into the w. the league is an entirely different level, and we have seen some of the struggles that happen when players from international leagues try to adjust.
