Same logic here. Tongue scrape first to remove physical matter, then brush with toothpaste to deep clean.
And of course, brush your teeth AND gums and roof of your mouth.

Re: the dental health conversation: instead of attacking people over (potential) health issues + lack of access, I think it’s more productive to help where you can. So here’s what I do / what my dentist told ME:
1) Stainless steel tongue scrapers are your best friend. They actually pick up what toothbrushes do not. Extremely cheap. I’ve been using them for ~6ish years. Amazon can get you a 2-pack for $9-$14. And you wash them with soap when done!
