Virginity should not be the #1 factor Christians look for when considering who to marry. Godliness and being attracted to them is.
Virginity matters, and it's a blessing from God. It's not wrong to desire someone who is a virgin. And past sexual sin regularly carries present-day consequences.
But I fear we've placed virginity on such a high pedestal that it's become an idol for many.
The Bible doesn't say that someone "is free to be married to anyone [they want] — only if they're a virgin." It says that someone "is free to be married to anyone [they want] — only in the Lord (aka, only if they're a Christian)" (1 Cor. 7:39).
In other words, what matters above all else is that your spouse is a believer, virgin or not.
Again, while desiring to marry a virgin isn't a bad thing, it becomes a bad thing if it causes you to miss out on marrying the person who truly matters: the man or woman who's born-again, passionate about Jesus, excellent in the God-given characteristics of a godly wife or husband, and physically attractive to you.
And a mature Christian should desire those things in a potential spouse above all else, regardless of the past sins the person may have gone through (though they should certainly weigh out that aspect as well in this decision, since it does matter).

I think if you're a mid 30s or later unmarried male you probably need to be realistic about women your own age and make a hard decision about standards vs singleness. The data is brutal, but I personally know some successful late bloomers, children and all.
If you are a woman with a promiscuous past, you should be humble about it and open to proper vetting by suitors concerning your character now. You should also be open to cutting off any relationships with former friends who are still in that lifestyle.
I don't think men should be shamed for marrying a repentant woman that isn't a virgin. Especially older men with limited options.
Neither do I think they should be shamed for not doing so.
I think young men and women should aim for being married as virgins prior to 25 at the latest.
This goal should not be put off for education and career.
Men specifically should have a plan for provision and women a plan for how to support him in his work.
I do not think our past sexual sins should be broadcast to the world for the sake of testimony. It is cringe. It is enough to know that Christ can save to the uttermost while being prudent on the details.
We do not need to sensationalize conversion through glorying in scandal.
Every conversion is a miracle.

There's actual statistical evidence to suggest that a woman sexual past is far more damaging to a relationship than porn use.
If a woman that slept with 10 people before marrying her husband the chances of a divorce are almost guaranteed (over 80%).
Women who are statistically responsible for initiating 3/4 of every divorce, will fight porn use as a means to claim infidelity, and then went out in the courts.

I’ve seen porn addiction ruin more marriages than marrying a person who has repented of a promiscuous past. There is no “but” here. Both are an offense to a Holy God. Man, the sins people struggle with have such a hold on them they can’t admit they are just as sinful and disgusting while claiming christ and swiping through porn…. many CHRISTIANS are addicted to porn …. The fornicators they point at are likely not even Christians, and if they are Christians and have repented STOP SHAMING THEM FOR THE PAST. Imma have an aneurysm.

Comparing a promiscuous woman to a pedophile, rapist, or murderer is really dumb & major category error. One is a violent act against an innocent party’s will, who cannot defend themselves. The other is a sexually immoral act with willing participants. Per scripture, one is a capital offense, and the other is not.

Literally no one is making the argument that it’s wrong for men to desire sexual purity when seeking a wife. No one is making the argument that you must marry a woman with promiscuous past.
The argument is that redemption is real and women with these pasts can be redeemed. That they can make good & godly wives by the power of the Holy Spirit. That they are not damaged goods. That is the argument being made.

I think we are underestimating how sexually degenerate the young men are too.
The women aren’t just sleeping with themselves. The young men are whoring around too & those who aren’t are addicted to porn. & very few are leading in purity when dating.
We don’t have some epidemic of chaste holy men & whore women. Both sexes are sexually immoral & having a difficult time finding godly partners to pursue.
I have seen & personally know countless situations where a virgin woman married a man with sexual history—in fact, this is much more common in my experience.
Pretending like we have a generation of chaste holy young men while the women are all whores is just lying to ourselves about the real state of society. The men are in a terrible spot too & in desperate need of Christ.

If you talk to any boy between the ages of 18-22, he’ll likely tell you that he’s frustrated with dating because it seems like every girl is on OnlyFans or sleeping around. Then he opens a social media app and the first thing he sees is some guy happy because he waited while his wife slept around but it’s okay because she found Jesus. So the average young boy is reading it frustrated because it sounds like this guy is a cuck and if he follows this path, he too will end up with a reformed hoe. Marriage needs a better marketing campaign. Many people have never seen a powerful marriage in real life. Everyone dreams of love and romance and feels like it’s no longer achievable in this age. Additionally, good girls also feel Prodigal son’d when they see posts like these because when a girl does bad things and “sees the light” she still keeps all the OF money and gets speaking engagements, fame, and a guy simping over her anyway. Not saying people can’t change, but these posts don’t inspire the ones who need inspiration. They just end up pissing off the guys and girls trying to date.
