@anonymousg88355 @Pazaz Ah, maybe the manual code was just to synchronise an animation.
I didn't see it using modes to interact with the water or anything else, so maybe npc_setmode(none) needn't be there. But it does no harm.

@JagexAsh any chance you can share a snippet of the config for enchanted buckets on lunar isle? I noticed they behave a lot like "patrolling" npc's, but when blocked into one location they're happy to just stay there indefinitely instead of jumping to the next location

@JagexAsh @Pazaz I did notice that specific bucket had a "refilling" animation+delayed itself when it finished the cycle. Was guessing that maybe without the npc_setmode(none) calls in each block, maybe it would try to return to the water early from some sort of invisible object hunt/other mode?

@Pazaz Yes, and it looks like some other bucket NPCs were set up to use config patrolling. That feature's been around since RS2 launched, and Hans has been using it.
A manual timer is far less efficient, but it'd allow a dev to do custom interactions/checks en route. (I saw none here.)

@anonymousg88355 Sorry, I don't actually know how the engine chooses the order of those, and can't see what it's doing under the hood.
They obviously stop on logout; what happens on login is that they're restarted again, and this may not be in the same order as they were started before.

@JagexAsh just wondering, if a player has 2 active timers, is it ever possible their "order" can change after relogging? or is that preserved, and they'll still go off in the same order they originally started in?

@JagexAsh I've noticed that the new pyre foxes check for blocking while wandering, but walk through players/npc's when entering a trap. I was wondering, do they stop checking for blocking as soon as they "decide" to get trapped, or only within a certain range of the trap tiles?

@artimisskinpls @anonymousg88355 @MolGoatKirby I didn't have a Whisperer slayer task and he did a lot of boosting: luring mobs, pre-hitting them, spec transfer, trade potions and bracelets. Lots of misc. help while I was hunting for a slayer task.

@JagexAsh Thanks, that's really interesting even if there's no apparent use for it. Just seems like a pretty unique case - A stationary NPC with blocking that will never actually *keep* blocking

@anonymousg88355 They have the standard NPC blocking behaviour, whereby normal NPCs will be unable to walk through them.

@JagexAsh This is mostly for semantics, but do bloated toads set an npc blocking flag when placed on the ground? I don't really have a great way to test, because placing them forces me to walk off whatever tile they're placed on

@anonymousg88355 lol! The forced direction was done to help line up an animation, long ago, so that you'd more likely be pointing at the cow's udder area rather than trying to milk her face. They should be able to face in any direction the artist feels like mapping them.

@JagexAsh Can you give me the low-down on dairy cows? Specifically, why can you only interact with them from the left side of their head? I noticed they block line of sight and movement; Is it a consequence of that blocking or something else?
