Until you remember the likely sweltering heat, language barrier, probable hunger/thirst and the fact that you're going to have to endure the sheer hell of a flight and airport soon enough to go home when you should probably never have left home in the first place

Walking alone through a foreign city at night and realizing how far you’ve come has to be a top 3 peak moment of all time

Ref couldn’t wait to give a yellow. Spineless officiating and robbed once again. Looking forward to the apology that does absolutely fuck all for our points tally.

Fella is from Kilburn, could’ve picked anyone from his city yet still went with Liverpool.

Not everyone grows up with the privilege of being taken to football matches with their Dad

You’re a well known born and raised West Londoner that chose not to support any of the 4 West Londoner clubs any of the 17 total London clubs in order to be a Liverpool consumer, we know you don’t get it mate

What about if you’re a refugee and you didn’t grow up with your dad? This idea that you should support ya local doesn’t work if you come from an unstable home, move around a lot, and your family can’t afford to take you to a football game. The game is bigger than this sorry Dan

"Look at what they've done to it now." In this episode of Only Fools and Horses, Uncle Albert stands at the Shadwell Basin (East London) and reflects upon the erasure of all he knew and loved. This scene cuts me to my core. This is exactly how I feel when I stand there, many other places in London, and, of course, Britain overall. Each generation seems to slip further from familiarity, normality, and even morality. Until, one day, there will be nothing left to recognise and no one left to recognise anything even if there was. Moments before this scene, Rodney had walked out of the Prospect of Whitby pub in Wapping, which is a few yards away. I could write about this scene all day, but in the end, it speaks for itself. "They were rough people. They were good people" 💔⏳️
