@DJSnM Is there any chance you could do a video breakdown of their flight plan? As An avid KSP fan, I want to know why they did a figure 8 path to the moon and back, and how they managed the return speed and atmospheric reentry, etc...

Final maneuver to trim the approach trajectory, everything from this point onwards is all aerodynamics.

@DJSnM @anthonyayers I wonder if its at all frustrating for them to have to deal with a broken toilet for 9 days and then have to spend how ever long documenting the experience.

So the capsule is recovered, the crew are flying to home. Artemis III is the next flight, ideally in spring 2027 to hit the planned 10 month cadence, and there's a lot to do: * The core booster is about to leave the factory * SRB segments are rolling into KSC * The Mobile Launch Tower Needs repairs (again) * NASA needs to either use its last ICPS, or identify substitutes (like structural test articles) * Lockheed need to deliver an Orion spacecraft ahead of schedule. * KSC needs to stack all this. * SpaceX & Blue Origin need to get HLS hardware in orbit for the test. * Axiom should deliver suits for testing. * And of course, NASA needs to select some astronauts for this test flight. In the meantime the moon will be visited by multiple landers from US providers under the CLPS program, hopefully most of them make soft landings on their legs.

If I were to roughly define the large, middle band of American politics right now in 10 points, I think it'd look something like this: 1. Relentless focus on solving affordability; "Abundance" x "Cut regulation" agenda 2. Moderate social politics that defend weak/disenfranchised and despise cruelty, but refuse to have ultra-progressive cultural/social norms enforced on them 3. Support work of police/military but also want unapologetic accountability for bad actors 4. Policy of soft American power (supports USAID, being beacons of hope across the globe) but as a disposition is isolationist (no more wars, not dragging us into conflicts in Ukraine OR Venezuela) 5. Intense border security and zero tolerance for people here illegally committing crimes, but also makes it easier to come here legally to work/live/immigrate and welcomes newcomers who want to be American & embrace our society/culture as it is 6. Wants govt funding + private sector coordination toward diseases of despair (addiction, suicide, social media addiction) 7. Cares about birth rate and promotes pro-family policies to make having families easier; calls on not just govt but also faith orgs in pursuit of promoting more + bigger families 8. Environmentalism that cares about climate change but also embraces nuclear + technological solves, not focused on limiting/banning energy sources - wants to win on the merits in the capitalist system 9. Believes in expanding ACA+Medicaid at state and federal level to address health insurance funding, but also emphasizes pressures on hospitals/PBMs who drive up cost 10. Non-negotiable reforms to Social Security, Medicare, and military+govt waste to address our insane debt which will one day bring the economy to ruin This wouldn't be MY 10-point plan exactly, but I'd definitely prefer this rough outline over either major political tribe we have now. It's incredible how under-represented this band of voter is, yet how common they are in my personal and professional life (and among my many thousands of readers). Where is the politician or party ready to draw these lines? I think in a post-Trump era they'd be incredibly successful.

People with young children: if your kids get up super early you’ve probably got old people in your life telling you to put them to bed later and they’ll sleep in later. Do not fall for this.

Warm spent part of our Summer working on an expansive brand identity and web expressions for Daylight. A bold energy startup with the audacious goal of building the world’s largest decentralized, sustainable power plant needed an equally bold identity. We combined a super-scalable, optimistic D monogram (simply nicknamed “El Sol”), a single workhorse typeface, and a flexible grid system as the infrastructure for the brand to grow. I can’t wait to rock El Sol on hat! @warmdotdesign makes things that are thoughtful, artful, foundational, smart, expansive, cohesive, opinionated, fun, human, sturdy, storied, textured, well-edited, and well-crafted. If you like things like that, we’d probably enjoy making them with you, too.
