Alright folks, in this final day of 2022 I want to know: What is the single best tool or habit you acquired this year that has had a positive impact on your life? Minimum qualifying experience for either is 2 months. Enlighten me!

@karrisaarinen Nerdwriter made a great video on this a while back youtube.com/watch?v=AAwbvG… I 100% agree with writing as a form of thinking.

If I ask someone to write me a plan or proposal, what I’m actually asking for is “think about what you want to do, put it in words and see if it makes sense to you, to me or someone else”. I’m not asking for a document, I’m asking for the thinking.

Maybe I’m wrong with this, but feel like generating docs with AI won’t be actually a net benefit. 1) I view writing as a form of thinking, using AI to write will skip the thinking 2) Docs without thinking might be just garbage and shouldn’t to written or read anyway

Just noticed that @NotionHQ doesn't keep localised spelling of the input. Made me wonder if we're going to start seeing more US spelling leaking into the world if these models only spit out US English. Are other AI writing assistants the same?

Intention: quest & story now that our new characters finally reached Dragon Isles. Reality: spent whole evening flying all over the map with husband on lookout duty for dragon glyphs. Most fun I’ve had in months. Also, the artz are frigging beautiful. F’ing amazing work. #Wow

@anthonyshort I didn’t know this, and I’m both horrified and unsurprised.

Kids medicine in the US mostly contains high fructose corn syrup and it’s hard to get a hold of one that doesn’t. You know, the stuff that other countries don’t use because they care about people.

What AI is good at doing and should be used for: Assisting human work as a tool for more tedious and repetitive tasking. What AI is bad at and should not be used for: Replacing the creative process completely and basing said work on stolen database values.

You need to measure out 1 ½ cups of a dry ingredient. Are you: • Lawful: using a 1-cup measure and a ½-cup measure • Neutral: using a ½-cup measure three times • Chaotic: using a 1-cup measure twice, eyeballing the half cup
