Two weeks ago, I attended the IAP 2024 Conference at the @PoliTOnews and got to present parts of my PhD project. And what a nice surprise it was, to run into the legend Lukas Podolski in front of my hotel!

After a long meeting at @IBED_UvA, the PE&RC PhD Council went to Oceaan for the well deserved annual Christmas dinner. Happy holidays everyone! 🎄🎁🎆

I'm very happy and proud that we have ended the year with two very interesting @IBED_UvA seminars: my former supervisor Prof. Michael Bruen from @ucddublin on decision support tools and Prof. Luuk Dorren from @bfh_hesb on hazard risk management.

Yesterday I was at the @SR_Netherlands documentary screening on civil disobedience, and @fdabl and @eileenende leaded a very interesting discussion! 🌍

Very interesting lecture on paleoecology and island biodiversity by @nogue_sandra for our @IBED_UvA Seminars on Thursday!

Thursday was the @PEandRC Day 2023 on Disease Ecology with interesting presentations by @WimvanderPoel1, Helen Esser and Marjolein Bruijning. Congratulations again to @NinaWitteveen for winning the Call for Institutional Collaboration! 🥳

Today I joined @MariGliesch and @Leo_Hinojosa_S on the field to collect 120 samples from their drought experiments; it was a lot of work but also a lot of fun! 🌱🌧️

This and last week I worked in the labs of @UniUtrecht to measure the zeta potential of my floc solutions. The collaboration with Alemeh Karami, who I met at the NAC Conference in March, is going really well and the results are promising!

In order to keep the soil from being in contact with the air, we had to fill up the tubes we hammered in the ground with Nitrogen and seal them, before digging them out. It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it!

On Thursday, I went to Reeënberg with @Geobram and Rutger to sample podzols for anaerobic degradation experiments. Such a pretty soil profile, right?

Today I attended two very interesting lectures through the Future of Energy network: Prof @brunoehrler presented his work on the use of Perovskites for solar power and Prof. Joyeeta Gupta talked about how as a society we can stop using fossil fuels.
