It’s frustrating how audiences engage with nuanced media through a rigid, black and white, male centric lens where a man’s shortcomings are still pinned on the woman, while her emotions and perspective are dismissed, even when the narrative is clearly trying to center them

Randomly decided to press play on Yumi’s cells season 3 having never watched any prior season and it turned out to be such a delightful watch! Had a lot of fun watching Yumi and that hot introverted guy but I’m obsessed with the braincells running that shit like the navy😭😭

The only saeguk I’ve watched this year was To My Beloved Thief and even that feels like it happened ages ago

Whatever the hell happened to kdrama industry making sageuks. We used to get so many every year. I can’t believe how good we used to have it.

The fact that a kdrama pissed me off so bad that I had to come back to this hell of a place just to hate on it. Yeah.

The writing is the biggest issue. There seems to be no nuance and complexity in the characters and their ambitions and motivations are so vaguely written and unclear. The only character I found interesting was daebi-mama bc she’s hot as hell and acts the fuck out of her scenes.

You’re telling me I’m supposed to cheer when a money and power driven capitalist girlboss CEO finds love with a Prince?! And wait it gets worse: Their middle class employees who work their ass off all day are also loudly cheering for them and wholeheartedly love them. Hell naw.

Either perfect crown is disastrously bad or I’ve become too critically aware of class structures to enjoy it or maybe it’s both.
