Twitter has always been my favorite social media app, but I started to get sick of how the app’s algorithm work here and I deleted the app a few days ago to give my mind some peace.
First day: HUGE FOMO
Second day: some fomo
Third day: opened it for 3 seconds through the browser and immediately felt lucky and grateful to actually miss out.

@PhilHedayatnia @henloitsjoyce Interestingly, the hawker trade's rapidly dying out in Singapore precisely due to prices being kept artificially low.
Most children of hawkers I know say their parents told them to work hard and not be a hawker cos it's brutal.

this yr since living full time in SF i've had to learn how to crack my own eggs. i've cracked 20 so far
why? bc in asia eating out solo is actually way cheaper than cooking for yourself. lunch in FIDI was $5

Fun fact: Did you know Singapore discourages the poorest couples from having babies by allowing them access to public housing (as long as they are babyless)?
In this entire TFR debate, I've never seen anyone encouraging us to financially support these people...

You dont need to force yourself down unappealling paths. There are specific things that are going to speak so so directly to your soul, and it’s out of the mind’s control what those are. But you do need to stay receptive and rested so that that response can be felt

Am learning to enjoy-maxx life when all my life I have been taught that most of life *is* suffering.
Which made me incredibly depressed.
Learning to savour food a la Thich Nhat Hanh, savour my breath & also savour whatever experience I am currently in.
Difficult but possible.

However it assumes that robots cannot become sentient.
I wonder if laypeople would treat them differently once they achieve sentience (if they'd treat them the same as ordained monks/nuns).

Visited a 185 year old temple in Singapore today that didn't allow videography or photography.
All I left with is hair that smells like incense and a feeling of protection and of greater spiritual clarity.
Most grateful to the uncle who provided a temple map.
