Ukraine today is not just a place on a map. It is a breath between explosions, a sky that is no longer just a sky, every second suspended between life and death. It is a country that stands not because it is easy, but because it has no right to fall.
I am part of that sky. I am its guardian.
I am a drone pilot in the air defense of the 37th Brigade. A woman. An amputee. Born in Poland, shaped in Belgium, but my heart is here — in a country that taught me that freedom is not given, it is fought for. Not with words — with fire, pain, and endurance.
My loss is not an end. It is the beginning of another kind of strength. Every movement is a challenge to gravity and to fate. Every drone launch is an act of faith. Every target neutralized is a life saved that I will never see, but for which I exist here and now.
To protect the sky is more than a military mission.
It means holding silence above children instead of sirens.
It means giving mothers a chance not to bury their sons.
It means that somewhere, someone can go on living, loving, dreaming — without knowing that, in the shadows, someone is watching over them.
I want to say thank you. Deeply.
To all the volunteers — those who carry, who heal, who rebuild, who give without counting.
To those around the world who did not look away.
To those who understood that Ukraine is not alone, and must never be.
Your support is not abstract. It is real. It lives in every life saved, in every night that is a little less dark, in every dawn that still dares to rise.
Ukraine is a shield. A shield for itself, for its children — and for Europe. And every person who supports this fight holds that shield with us.
I am not just a soldier.
I am living proof that human will can rise above loss, pain, and borders.
I am here for honor. For freedom. To save as many lives as possible.
And as long as the sky is threatened — I will be there to defend it.
Because to protect the sky
is to protect life.
