kickstarter.com/projects/sl-pe… This clever little module is also a brilliant debut, it's been genuinely fun to be working on it. Back it, it's a deal, and see the instantly iconic Smiley in action for yourself!

@zachhazard I'm laying out a free print at home pdf of the module with RV Games, is it alright if we put these in?

Learning about Brindlewood Bay's approach to mysteries made me realize how many RPG design bits are about increasing the relevance of the game conversation.🧵

@KevinPetker @fuseboy I never had less fun in a game from doing the Getting There instead of a flashback, that's the thing. I don't want or need the game to be like a movie, I really like that it isn't like a movie!

@fuseboy I never understood the appeal of getting rid of the planning, that always seemed like the fun part of heists.

Blades eliminates players methodically planning out their heists, instead letting them retcon in preparations using flashback scenes. Both of these games are avoiding the same thing: inapt discussion.

years of work in indie rpg has given me the ability to tell when people haven't actually played a game they're talking about, this makes almost everything funnier and more annoying all the time

@szymon_tw usually, or just forgetting that "the story" is basically just "listen to the GM describe what the NPCs do"

I'm fairly certain the people who disagree with this are deep lore perverts. I see this often with tabletop stuff too.

@AdamBlumenau I just want people to actually play or have played the things they put out.

115 years ago today, a man arrived in a small Western town and before anyone even learned his name he somehow died eating paste. The town buried the stranger and gave him a memorial stone. Nobody knew him, but they still wanted the future to know he was here once, he was alive.
