you can't tell though, you're all just paranoid atp if you go back and start reading fics from when ao3 was founded or something—and even dated BEFORE ao3—you'll still find every single one of those "tells" because AI was trained on real writers and not the other way around

Patriarchal dynamics don't just disappear because it's a work of fiction. You'd need to do phenomenal, intentional world-building to depict a society without gender as we know it, and at that point, you wouldn't even be able to write a relationship that was legibly heterosexual.

@aedonlight i think the reason for that is because there’s already an assumption that ppl going for varka are not doing it for meta reasons — they either don’t care about meta/numbers at all (don’t need calcs) or ready to invest more primos to get him to competitive dps level
