BREAKING: Arizona State is finalizing a five-year deal with Saint Mary's Randy Bennett to make him the Sun Devils' next head coach, sources told me and @PeteThamel. Bennett is an Arizona native who has led Saint Mary's to 12 NCAA tournament appearances since taking over in 2001.

I learned that David Sklansky passed away today.
Regardless of his thoughts & faults, there's no denying that he was one of the most influential individuals in the game of poker, especially in the 1970s and 80s.

On this day in 1969, the jam session that led to the creation of the Allman Brothers Band took place in Jacksonville, FL. The jam at the Gray House went so well that Duane Allman barred the door and said anyone not willing to be in his band would have to fight his way out.
