@NHS_Martin That was a mistake only getting a half. Last time I was there, I went for a quick pint of Harvey's and stayed for three. NBSS 4 which is a pretty rare event for me.

@NigelSommelier @desdemoor That's a real shame. He was a decent chap and fellow south east London dweller. I'm in the pub, so I'll raise a glass now.

Very sad to hear of the passing of #beer write and judge, @desdemoor. I was only judging the IBC beer awards alongside him a few months ago. His book on Cask Ale was quite something. RIP. I shall be raising a glass to him tonight 😔

@CharlieJSDavis I think publishing pictures of past pub visits is rather sad and pathetic. Are you going to the pub or not?

It’s Independent Pub Day today! Which I am disappointed to only just find out exists! We’re lucky to have so many great independent pubs locally in Eltham, New Eltham and further afield. If you can, go out and support one today 🍻

@ProfessorPubUK @NigelSommelier I'm not sure what that means. I limit my consumption by not drinking everyday, not drinking at home and sticking mainly to beer and cider. I've done this for years and wil continue to do so.

The impact of rising alcohol prices? - "39% of consumers are limiting their alcohol intake due to affordability, compared with just 22% who say they’re doing so to support health and fitness goals and 14% who want to be more mindful" drinksretailingnews.co.uk/price-a-bigger…

@mitrebarnet It's seems you may be right but apparently only because the EU threatened retaliation

Greenland is another staged panic and hate campaign against Trump from Starmer and EU leaders. My take is that Trump’s objective is to utilise the resources and ramp up the defence capability in Greenland. This will not end in a war or invasion, but Greenland will be developed.

@SkintDad It's why God invented beer. Shame the government wishes to deprive everyone.

It’s difficult not to feel like this at times. I know I’ve been feeling this way more and more over the last couple of years, but I still try to be as positive as I can, because it can end up consuming you.

@martyn_thornber @StymieSi I'm doing a Circle Line London Terminals crawl today. It's pretty much the standard price in Zone 1. I have no qualms using my vouchers.

Pre emptive, Lion & Unicorn, Waterloo station. Bit of quality from this early morning Spoons. Nice little expensive Old Moor Porter, 9/10 carpet, chirpy staff and it smelt disturbingly clean. Nailed on future GBG I reckon.

Not a good idea, for so many reasons, but if it's good enough for @StymieSi, it's good enough for me. #ESB in the Parcel Yard.

@aplarge Huddersfield to Stalybridge electrification is part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade. Work on some sections of TRU is well advanced.

You'll see from this that what Hull was promised in 2018 and what Hull is likely to get are poles apart. Hull's only mention is that NPR trains will use existing infrastructure (i.e. non-electrified 65-90 mph max line between Selby & Brough). Standby for outrage incoming...
Gareth Dennis@GarethDennis

Let's remind ourselves of what was promised in 2018 for £70bn of new east-west high speed lines across the north, thanks to far superior reporting to what we're seeing today: bbc.com/news/uk-englan…

I'm surprised at the level of debt involved here, £2.3million approx.
