@apocryphii @saz52_ @St1nkir @BRZonX the entire basis of your point is a doylist argument, this is a world in a game where characters have identities. it makes sense in a vacuum to make a character ambiguous in a game, but in deltarune, characters believable and this makes absolutely no logical sense here.

The game never confirms the character's identity, and considering Chara's identity it's safe to assume Kris is similar in concept.

@massive_titty_ @saz52_ @St1nkir @BRZonX Everyone in game refers to them that way because those are the genderneutral and ungendered pronouns. Letting people relate to the character in their own way in terms of gender wouldn't really work with strictly gendered pronouns don't you think?

@saz52_ @St1nkir @massive_titty_ @BRZonX the constant "Kris is nonbinary" from the community is so odd to me. there is a difference between ungendered characters (like the knight in Hollow Knight) and trans characters. it doesn't matter what pronouns you use for Kris because you are meant to relate them to your own life
