My business makes money with the help of TikTok. So do 7 MILLION other small businesses in the USA. 7 million. This creates over 220,000 jobs, $15 billion/yr small biz revenue & $24 billion/yr of economic activity/gdp in America. That’s what the government decided to ban.

Man, Meta Spark shutdown and now TikTok might also be shut down. 2/3 main players in social AR gone in the same month potentially. Scary

We completely rethought and rebuilt the developer experience, launched Lens Studio 5.0 (and won an Auggie Award for Best Developer Tool at AWE!), and partnered with our friends at Figma and OpenAI to make AR creation smarter and more fun. We integrated GenAI as a core part of our strategy, built out a new Plugin system, invested in open source, and found ways to pay creators sustainably through Lens Creator Rewards and other rev share style programs. Finally, we launched the latest generation of Spectacles—Snap’s AR glasses—during a time when AR feels both more certain and, at times, further away than ever. I’ll miss the DMs, the tweets, the support tickets, the texts, and the Discord messages from creators who were all in with us.
