How consistent Islam is can be judged from the disparity in how it treats its Apostates and those who convert into it. #ApostasyDay

Islam, right from its inception, has never been a religion of peace. It's a modern phenomenon to call it so, and it's done to simply protect it from criticism when the problematic aspects of its theology result in atrocities. Islam was used throughout its history by men to gain and exsert power and to control its subject by any means necessary.

One 19-year-old ex-Muslim I spoke to was abused by her parents because she was a lesbian. Her devices were seized and her lifelines to the outside world cut off. secularism.org.uk/opinion/2024/0… She finally managed to escape to a women's refuge. And she wanted to speak out. But she was worried: "I feel like if I speak up about this then the Muslim community will attack me." "You should just consider not speaking about it at all," the police officer with her said. This one story encapsulates so much of what the British state gets wrong about free speech, multiculturalism, and two-tier policing.

5 pillars glorifying Taliban administration of Afghanistan because you "feel blessings and barakah".. isn't it telling that Islamist blessing is only found when women aren't afforded any liberties, freedom of speech, thought, and apostasy is curtailed and little girls are barred from obtaining even primary education let alone women in higher education..
5Pillars@5Pillarsuk

"Visiting the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, when you go there, you really do feel a lot of blessing, a lot of barakah." Roshan and Rob discuss Afghanistan as local Afghans celebrate three years of Taliban rule. Dilly Hussain is now in Afghanistan, visiting the Islamic Emirate, in hopes of providing an honest Muslim perspective of life under Islamic Emirate rule. @RmSalih | @Bob_cart124 | @DillyHussain88

Apostasy is a human rights. If a country outlaws it, the country is repressive. If a society or community deals with it with abuse and/or abuse, that community is regressive. If a religion calls for murders of its apostates, that religion is insecure, false, wrong and barbaric. #Islam #ApostasyDay

Wish all the apostates, heretics, and dissenters a happy apostasy day!! #ApostasyDay Many countries around the world punish apostasy with death, communities deal with it with abuse and violence but they canNOT stop it. Apostasy shall be normalised. #AbolishApostasyLaws #AbolishBlasphemyLaws #ApostasyDay

It was an absolute honour to meet @GitaSahgal in person. 🙏❤️ Thank you, @MaryamNamazie @CEMB_forum, for hosting this much-needed discussion about countering extreme ideologies, particularly in light of the growing polarisation in our society.

We want to highlight that ex-Muslims have a variety of views and politics just like any other group. @MaryamNamazie and @CEMB_forum are two to check out for principled opposition to all forms of fundamentalism and bigotry.

The freedom to criticise is best used when criticising those who you share commonalities with. It's great to see a tradition of ex-Muslims criticising oyher ex-Muslims when they get things wrong or throw support behind the far right. @sararuqaishi well done on writing this.
The Freethinker@FreethinkerMag

Today in the Freethinker, Sara Al-Ruqaishi @sararuqaishi writes about the troubling alliance between some ex-Muslims and the far right in the wake of the racist riots in Britain earlier this month. @MaryamNamazie @CEMB_forum freethinker.co.uk/2024/08/the-fa…
