Basketball in Division II-A runs through Murfreesboro 🏆🏆 The PCA Lions and Lady Lions completed the sweep today with wins over USJ & BGA with nearly identical scores. PCA has now won four gold balls between the boys & girls programs since 2019.

Heading to the State Championship Game, @applegate2026 (PCA) scored 4 points with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. He was a game-best +7 in the +/-. Nobody took and gave more bruises this weekend in any game than Peyton today. One more W and he is a 2x State Champ.

My first game of Day 3 of the @Battle_for_615 was a physical, fierce showdown between Providence Christian Academy and Brentwood Academy, and it felt like a grind from the opening tip. Both teams brought energy and determination on both ends, and nothing came easy. Every touch was contested, every rebound was a battle, and after one hard nosed quarter it was just 14-13. The slugfest continued in the second as the scoring picked up slightly with timely buckets on both sides. Brentwood Academy started to grab momentum, but Providence answered right back to lock in a slim 30-29 halftime lead. The third was nothing but hard fought battles and big responses, with neither team willing to give an inch, ending in a 44-44 tie. The fourth turned into a pure grind session where every possession carried weight. Hard earned baskets, tough rebounds, and critical stops defined the stretch run, and Providence Christian Academy did just enough to hold on for a gritty 63-58 win as Brentwood had multiple late chances but could not convert or turn rebounds into points. Providence was led by @applegate2026 with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals, playing with purpose and adding scoring swagger to his usual blue-collar toughness. Chris Washington Jr. stayed in relentless attack mode with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal, while @Nickalai_A12 delivered timely buckets when they mattered most, finishing with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks. For Brentwood Academy, @humphreysja2028 was on another level, finishing with a game high 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals with force, and finishing through traffic. His energy and edge carried his team all night, but it was Providence that made the final stands and walked away with the win.
