Check out this massive #Neolithic core stone! While most cores are palm-sized, this monster is the "mother ship" of #flint tool production.Imagine the master crafters 5,000 years ago knocking off hundreds of razor-sharp blades from this one block. Pure lithic perfection!#ArchIllu

Ancient tech meets modern art✍️ This isn't just a rock. It’s a Stone Age tool. Impact marks & worn edges tell stories of flintknapping & pigment crushing. Through ink illustration,we make these invisible traces readable again. #Archaeology #StoneAge #Art #History #ArchIllu #ink

#Architecture in black & white Half-timbered construction is much more than just wood & clay-it is a highly complex static interweaving of #history & craftsmanship. We devote ourselves to the detailed documentation of these historic structures in classic #lineart style.#ArchIllu

Spearheads, knives & more! Iron objects tend to be rougher & less detailed than other metal finds. Unlike bronze objects, which are drawn dotted, iron is given diagonal hatching from bottom left to top right in archaeological #drawings. #ArchIllu #DeskGoals #archaeology #pencil

To find out what this object is, we had to do a little detective work. It is a glass mark from a beverage bottle (beer) from 1875 with the Prussian eagle. A glass signature is a mark that was put on a glass container so that it can be identified as the manufacturer. #ArchIllu

#Roman lead! Silver mining produced large quantities of lead as a by-product. Due to its durability & resistance it was used for water pipes (fistulae), weights, building components & as a food additive. The object on our drawing table may have been part of a lead pipe.#ArchIllu

A WIP on a flint knapping scene created using Blender and Daz 3D. Nice to refresh some skills from DAZ 3d and use their Genesis 9 deformers for figure modifications. Also playing with Blender 5 Multiple Scattering sky model #Archaeology #Mesolithic # #Blender #Daz3D

Roman Imperial Burial Ground! It all began in a freezing cold archive in 2015, when we saw the hundreds of urns that we were now commissioned to draw. Until then, we had never drawn so many vessels – the finds from an entire burial ground... #ArchIllu👉archaeologische-illustrationen.de/.../projekt...

Grinding stones were important tools for early farmers in #Neolithic Europe. They were used to grind grain into flour for bread or porridge. The large stone served as a grinding surface, which was supplemented by a 'runner' stone to crush the grains.#stoneage #Archaeology #ArchIllu
