Smiljan Radić Wins the 2026 Pritzker Prize ➕ Chilean architect Smiljan Radić has been awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize (@pritzkerarchitectureprize) 2026, the most prestigious recognition in architecture. Known for his experimental and deeply poetic approach to building, Radić’s work explores the tension between fragility and permanence, often blending raw materials, handcrafted processes, and unexpected forms. From the ethereal Serpentine Pavilion (2014) to the monumental Teatro Regional del Biobío, his projects challenge conventional typologies while remaining profoundly connected to landscape, memory, and human experience. His architecture stands as a quiet yet powerful reminder that buildings can evoke emotion, curiosity, and a renewed awareness of place. • Photography: © Cristobal Palma | © Iwan Baan _ #ArchitectureNow#PritzkerPrize2026 All materials presented on this site are Ⓒ copyrighted and owned by the creators mentioned above.

➕ This post is just a little reminder that we’ve all been through learning, growing, and making mistakes along the way. What truly matters is never losing the love for our craft, trusting our talent, and allowing ourselves to pause when needed—so we can come back stronger, clearer, and ready to give our best again. • Photography: © CuddlyNest | © Aresgé | © Eclectic Archives | © Miranda | © catherine _ #ArchitectureNow - #ArchitectLife

🚨Breaking News ➕ The Burj Khalifa was evacuated this Saturday amid escalating tensions in the Gulf. The Burj Khalifa in Dubai was cleared as a precaution following reports of explosions and missile overflights in different areas of the city. Authorities activated emergency protocols and evacuated visitors, residents, and staff from the 828-meter tower, the tallest building in the world. Surrounding streets were also secured while officials assessed the situation. The developments come amid Iran’s reported offensive targeting U.S. positions in the region, which has triggered alerts across parts of the Gulf. Officials in the United Arab Emirates continue to monitor the situation as preventive measures remain in place. _ #ArchitectureNow

➕ This landmark infrastructure project introduces Central China’s first vertical lift bridge, redefining the relationship between river navigation and urban mobility. Featuring a 104-meter movable span capable of rising 27 meters, the bridge sets four Asian records in span length, width, lifting weight, and lifting height. Its adaptive lifting system allows uninterrupted maritime traffic on the Yangtze River while maintaining continuous road connectivity, demonstrating a refined balance between structural innovation, logistical efficiency, and contemporary infrastructure design. • Video: Via Facebook Embajada China SV _ #ArchitectureNow

The Douban Museum ➕ CSWADI designs The Douban Museum as an architecture of preservation, carefully interwoven with existing trees, bamboo groves, and the surrounding agricultural landscape. By placing most functional spaces below ground, the project minimizes its visual footprint while maintaining a strong relationship with the terrain. Above ground, lightweight pitched roofs reinterpret local Chengdu architecture through layered forms, deep eaves, and a hybrid timber–steel structure. A central courtyard anchors circulation and social life, allowing the museum to unfold as a quiet “house among bamboo,” where architecture, landscape, and memory coexist. • Architects: CSWADI • Year: 2025 • Area: 72,828 ft² • Photography: 404NFSTUDIO _ #ArchitectureNow#Museum All materials presented on this site are Ⓒ copyrighted and owned by the creators mentioned above.

➕ Designed by Louis Kahn, the Salk Institute in La Jolla stands as one of the most powerful expressions of architecture as a frame for thought. Defined by rigorous concrete geometry and an open plaza carved by a single linear water channel, the project creates a monumental yet contemplative environment for scientific research. The careful alignment toward the Pacific Ocean transforms emptiness into meaning, where light, silence, and proportion become architectural tools. More than a research campus, the Salk Institute embodies Kahn’s belief that architecture should elevate human purpose, turning space into an instrument for reflection, discovery, and timeless clarity. • Media: Via Ig renee | Olga | Awai Ceramics | Elena Mahno _ #ArchitectureNow

Maison Louis Vuitton Sanlitun ➕ Jun Aoki & Associates conceives this flagship as a fluid architectural envelope that oscillates between solidity and lightness, drawing inspiration from both traditional Chinese scholar’s rocks and haute couture. Clad in dichroic mirrors, the four-story façade reads as a translucent garment shaped by movement, reflection, and permeability. Referencing Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring–Summer 2016 dress, the building balances brand identity with cultural context, translating the qualities of shou, zhou, lou, and tou into an expressive skin that merges fashion, architecture, and urban presence. • Architect: Jun Aoki & Associates • Year: 2025 _ #ArchitectureNow - #MaisonLouisVuittonSanlitunAll materials presented on this site are Ⓒ copyrighted and owned by the creators mentioned above.

➕ A bench can change how a city feels. It can invite conversation, comfort, or quiet observation —all depending on how it’s designed. Next time you sit down, notice how the space was designed for you. _ #ArchitectureNow - #Urbanism

ZHUJI HISTORICAL MEMORIAL HALL ➕ The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Zhejiang University, in collaboration with local institutions, conceives this memorial architecture as a spatial narrative shaped by memory, landscape, and history. Embedded within the mountainous terrain of Zhuji, the project reconstructs fragmented historical elements—water, red stone, and topography—into a sequence of immersive scenes that guide visitors through remembrance and reflection. Through sloping walls, water curtains, courtyards, and controlled sightlines, architecture becomes a medium for storytelling, where interior and exterior spaces intertwine to sustain collective memory while integrating seamlessly into citizens’ everyday public life. • Architect: The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Zhejiang University • Year: 2022 • Area: 10,000 ft² - 25,000 ft² • Photography: Ⓒ Zhao Qiang - UAD _ #ArchitectureNow#MemorialArchitecture All materials presented on this site are Ⓒ copyrighted and owned by the creators mentioned above.
