She wrote that #Archivists are "scholars, detectives, and unsung heroes of museum settings whose tireless work enables our cultural institutions to preserve and present the complexities of history." 😭❤️🗃️ #bkmarchives #bkminterns

In "Partnering to Document Land and Water History in Colorado" - extensive time given to detail development of the state of Colorado, but as yet failed to mention the Native American Nations, Tribes, and Ancestral Publeoan/Anasazi people #saa23

Disappointing, what was once a phenomenal library program so ineptly treated by smashing 2 full-time jobs into 1, offering $22-24 an hour, not acknowledging that "coordinating" a library is a whole profession

p typical of native american & first nation cultural genocide in north america--provenance is source/origin & non-creation/erasure of documentation reinforces dominant narratives. Don't forget we're on stolen land, legacy of forced displacement also obfuscates provenance.

Of 139 Native American objects loaned or donated to the Met by collectors Charles and Valerie Diker, only 15 percent had complete or traceable provenances, a new report claims. artforum.com/news/propublic…

Photography curators and content creators about #ejbellocq beware! The legacy of misinformation re Bellocq continues. As I argue in my thesis, rigorous work has not been done bc of rumour, the marginalized subject matter, ableism, etc. #histsex

During the 1910s, E.J. Bellocq captured a minimum of 89 portraits of prostitutes working in Storyville, known as the famous red-light district of New Orleans. ⁣ (E.J. Bellocq, "Girl with Striped Stockings," 1912, Vintage gelatin silver print, Roger Houston Ogden Collection)
