Credit where it’s due. The current 🇸🇪government has a real record on tech and entrepreneurship. EU minister @Rosencrantz_J published a piece in DI laying out what this government has actually delivered for Swedish tech and entrepreneurship. The record is real. Tax burden at its lowest since 1975. ISK savings ceiling doubled. New 3:12 rules cutting tax for 60,000 small business owners. Expert tax extended from 5 to 7 years. Processing time for skilled worker permits cut from 100 to 18 days. 6.5 billion into research and innovation. Sweden’s first national AI strategy. And on growth: the EU Commission forecasts Swedish GDP at 2.6% in 2026, a five-year high. Expected to be among the highest in the EU. That’s a serious record. Not complete, but serious. What’s still missing: employee stock options remain uncompetitive vs the US and UK. No national startup strategy coordinating across ministries. Compute infrastructure not on the agenda. Salary floors still hurting early stage companies that compete on equity not cash. The direction is right. The speed needs to match the ambition.
