@robinsonmeyer @JesseJenkins (2/2) The SE already has some of the lowest e- prices, so wouldn't expanding their mkt just increase the demand for their regionally generated low cost e-, and thus drive up prices -- in the same way that exporting cheap US LNG would drive up domestic NG prices?

Basically, the Congressional GOP's brilliant plan to save the government is to make 50-54 year-olds who need SNAP benefits now prove that they're working (which in practice means kicking a lot of working elderly ppl off food stamps because they can't meet paperwork requirements)

"Minting the coin would be almost as bad as default" is such an annoying argument because there's absolutely no evidence for it but you can't ever fully debunk it because it's an argument designed to be impervious to evidence. "hOw CaN YoU eB sUrE???" concern trolling abounds.
