Then don’t transition.” This is a lazy, morally bankrupt argument of a culture that’s traded truth for comfort. We now act as if every serious issue can be reduced to personal taste, just like picking the flavor of our favorite ice cream. We act as if whatever we believe has no implications outside of ourselves. You would never say: “Don’t like child abuse? Don’t abuse your kid.” “Don’t like racism? Don’t be racist.” “Don’t like drunk driving? Then don’t do it.” Why not? Because we all instinctively understand that some things are just wrong, and not just for you and me, but for everyone, because these things they hurt people, they corrupt innocence and truth, they distort reality, and they destroy the moral foundation we all depend on to live in a functioning society. The idea that all moral issues are private choices is a lie. These things don’t stay in our bedrooms or at clinic or in our heads. They seep into our schools, the media, law, culture, and to the next generation. Everyone pays the price for the lies we choose to accept.
