The subtle implication of sidestepping Chevron is that the challengers' fabricated intent theory is truly insane.

The only thing ACA haters get out of this ruling is that the Court didn't call them batshit. No federalism. No mulligan for a GOP president.

@nicholas_bagley Gives insight into Roberts's one question. Given Verrilli's answer, shows weakness of Chevron step 2, not of Chevron.

The Court doesn't rest its opinion on concerns about coercing the states; it just says that's not what Congress meant to do.
