Yesterday, IPL tickets were discussed in the Assembly. Today, the CM called a meeting on it. Do job aspirants, Belagavi sugarcane farmers, SC communities demanding internal reservation, or ASHA & Anganwadi workers get the same urgency?

The current state of the Royal Navy: 2 aircraft carriers — neither operational. 6 Type 45 destroyers (our most powerful warships) — one operational (in Cyprus). 7 Type 23 frigates (less powerful, much older) — three operational 5 Astute class nuke-powered subs — one operational (in Arabian Sea?). Surely those responsible for this appalling state of unreadiness (a national embarrassment if ever there was one)— political, civilian and military — should be fired/charged. Their incompetence has effectively left us without a navy. Quite an achievement for an ancient island nation.

#WATCH | Bengaluru: On State MLAs' demand for IPL tickets, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar says, "...Four tickets can't be given. So, every MLA, MP and Minister used to get one seat each. Now, we have requested them to give two tickets if the family members go. For tomorrow's first match, they will get two tickets. For the next match, we will discuss later."

Prior to the Congress MLA demanding IPL tickets, Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka raised the issue in the Assembly, alleging that they have to plead for tickets despite the government giving land to the KSCA at nominal rates. Bengaluru The #Karnataka Legislative Assembly witnessed a heated debate on Thursday as Leaderof Opposition R. Ashoka slammed the Karnataka State Cricket Association (#KSCA) over the "disrespectful" treatment of elected representatives regarding #IPL 2026 ticket allocations. The controversy erupted just 48 hours before the season opener at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad. Leading the charge, Ashoka highlighted a stark disparity between the resources the state provides and the benefits it receives. He pointed out that while the government has leased 16 acres and 32 guntas of prime land to the KSCA at a nominal rent, the association is charging the public and MLAs exorbitant rates. "We have to plead for a single ticket," Ashoka stated. "They send tickets in my name, but I cannot even send my family. Meanwhile, these tickets are being sold on the black market for anywhere between ₹3,000 and ₹20,000." Following this statement, Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar also raised the issue, extending support to R. Ashoka. @INCKarnataka @BJP4Karnataka @IPL @venkateshprasad @RAshokaBJP

Engineers in Kenya built a tunnel underneath a highway to reconnect a centuries-old elephant migration route that had been cut off by new construction. Then they had to figure out how to get the elephants to actually use it. Workers lined the entire inside of the concrete tunnel with fresh elephant dung to create a familiar scent trail. A bull elephant named Tony followed it through first, then led his entire herd to the other side. The tunnel is fourteen feet high. The migration route is hundreds of years old.

On 23rd March 2026, Japan launches the world's first freight-only Shinkansen, converting a former passenger bullet train into a high-speed cargo carrier by removing all seats to maximize storage space. A total game changer for freight transport.

This is what entitled MLAs think of the common man. "They give MLAs one ticket & that too in the bottom gallery, where these people… where these people go" says Vijayanand Kashappanavar as he hesitates to even complete his sentence realising he's on camera.
