My friend who is a Radiologist, has secured Rank 1 in FET in Neurovascular intervention. The Head of Neurointervention @NarayanaHealth @NHrudayalaya is apparently make his residents call my friend to not take up the seat because he prefers DM Neuro candidate! What Nonsense?!

We speak so often of superlatives—conversations at conferences and elite forums seem to revolve around them. But clinical medicine is rarely that dramatic. This patient came with inconspicuous, subacute symptoms(barely there headache). What would you call this? #FOAMrad #Neurology #Neurosurgery #Radres #Neuroradiology #Neurotwitter

What I value most in radiology education is getting the basics right—anatomy, protocoling, the fundamentals. That’s what really sharpens your eye for the subtle and the atypical. Delighted to share the scientific program for the ICRI Neuro Refresher Course—bringing together the basics and advanced imaging. Join us for a day of learning, dialogue, and fresh perspectives.

Much of what defines phenomenal radiologists is knowing where to look for the answers. This is not an especially difficult case to diagnose; rather, it is a classic example of imaging camouflage—and precisely why black-blood imaging matters. Then again, how many of us routinely incorporate it into our CVT protocols? Education, one would hope, is meant to make us smarter—no? #Neuroradiology #FOAMed #Radres #Neurology #Neurosurgery #Neurotwitter

We frequently attribute symptomatic DVAs to alterations in their intrinsic angioarchitecture — but can a DVA itself produce mechanical obstruction? Sharing this case as a point for reflection. Your analysis is welcome. #Neuroradiology #NeuroTwitter #Neurosurgery #Radres #Neurology

🧵 Arterialised DVA: when a venous anomaly crosses a hemodynamic threshold Developmental venous anomalies (DVAs) are designed to protect venous drainage. But some DVAs stop behaving like veins. This is that story 👇 #Neurotwitter #Neurosurgery #Neurology #FOAMrad

Think of cavernous malformations as the consequence Low-flow vascular malformations Preferentially arise in regions of: Chronic venous congestion Recurrent microhemorrhage Blood–brain barrier disruption Frequently acquired and topographically linked to DVAs 👉 Cavernous malformations are not incidental neighbors — they are products of the venous environment.

🍿 Not Just a Popcorn MRI Sign — A Venous Story 🍿 in the brain — a phrase we all use. But why do these classic “popcorn” lesions keep showing up next to developmental venous anomalies (DVAs)? Let's explore 🧠 DVAs and Cavernous Malformations: Cause, Consequence, and Chronic Venous Stress! #NeuroTwitter #FOAMrad #Neurosurgery #Neurology #Neuroradiology #FOAMrad

Management principles Do not touch the DVA Conservative management is the rule Treat symptoms, not the vein Surgery/endovascular therapy risks catastrophic venous infarction This contrasts sharply with thrombosed DVAs or arterialized/transitional DVAs, where management paradigms differ

Where does stenosis usually occur? Most commonly at the transition zone: Parenchyma → dura Just before the vein enters: Superior sagittal sinus Torcula Deep venous system This has been consistently shown in imaging and pathologic series

What is collector vein stenosis? A fixed or functional narrowing of the draining vein of a DVA → impaired venous egress → venous hypertension in otherwise normal brain. Crucially: Inflow is normal Outflow is compromised
