Calling a victim without agency a "villain," and then claiming that this victim "redeemed" themselves with a shitty "therapy" that is actually outright revictimization, makes it clear that you don't understand the MCU's portrayal of Bucky at all 🤦♀️ Bucky IS and ALWAYS has been a good man.

We would have seen Bucky as Captain America before Sam if the MCU followed the Comics In the comics Bucky Barnes became Captain America after Steve Rogers was assassinated following Civil War. He carried the shield for years. Struggled with the weight of it. And slowly became one of the most compelling versions of Captain America ever written. The MCU had a completely different plan. Steve handed the shield directly to Sam in Endgame. Bucky was standing right there. He didn't fight it. Just smiled because he knew Sam was the right choice. Bucky never got his redemption through the shield. He got it through therapy. Through facing the people he hurt. Through choosing to be James Barnes again instead of the Winter Soldier. Sam got the symbol. Bucky got the healing. If the MCU followed the comics we would have seen Bucky as Captain America before Sam. Instead they gave us something nobody expected. A villain who became a good man without ever needing to be a hero first.
