@michael_zmash @ZecariasG @Nahomkgk I would put the goals in a simple way: respect Eritreans & Eritrea; promote justice, peace, liberal democracy; shun wars; focus on citizen not their sect, region, tribal & primordial identities; fight the devaluing of our human & material sacrifices; don’t forget the PFDJ

Haile Gebru & His Lifetime Achievement Award It’s well deserved and it’s long past due for us to recognize our artists while they live. Wish we did it for all of them. I think the celebration really should have been for “Haile Gebru & The Zerai Deres Band.” Because: 1. All the giant hits his name is associated with were introduced under the Zerai Deres Band. Songs including: • Kab Himamey Krub Tehasheni • Ab Xemxem Berekha • NisemamaE • Nakfikeki Alekhu • Kab Lomi Qbexni • Embaba • Chekan Ekhi Not to mention their “bzey mqurax tesfa” where they tell us who they are and why they are: ዕዮና ክንጅምር እንተደኣ ተበጊስና ዘር ኣይ ደረስ ብዝብል እንዳተጸዋዕና 2. It was an actual band Sure, Haile Gebru was its founder and lead vocalist but the band was made up of competent musicians: drums, base, horns and keyboards. Unlike most artists, Haile Gebru never sang over music solo, allowing you to appreciate the musicians, even when it is a 3-minute song: youtu.be/vZ8lxrZpWNw?si… Of course, there is nothing wrong with the trajectory of band name, followed by lead singer and band name, followed by just the name of the vocalist: The Supremes. Diana Ross & The Supremes. Diana Ross. But it would have been to mention the name of the band.

The detention in Kuwait of award-winning Palestinian-American and Kuwaiti journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, simply for reporting on an incident in the US-Israel aggression on Iran, is a shameful attack on press freedom, an act of arbitrary detention, and a gross violation of Kuwait’s obligations under the ICCPR. Ahmed must be freed, and the Kuwaiti government must finally commit to human rights at home and in its foreign policy. #FreeAhmedEldin #FreeAhmed

Absolute horror. Al Jazeera confirms the Trump administration's near total fuel blockade on Cuba is causing infant mortality to surge. Doctors are literally operating blind in the dark as life saving machines shut off. This is a deliberate crime against humanity.

The Self-Assessment Poverty In The Prosperity Party “To illustrate Ethiopia’s historical yearning for prosperity, Deacon Daniel Kibret cited a song from 1974. “At the time, the military officers who had overthrown Emperor Haile Selassie were still searching for an ideology. Before Mengistu Haile Mariam consolidated power by murdering his colleagues, the Ethiopian News Agency—the same one now run by the Deacon—broadcast a hopeful revolutionary song: “ተነሳ ተራመድ — Rise up and strive forward ክንድህን አበርታ — Strengthen your arm ላገር ብልፅግና — For the prosperity of the country ለወገን አለኝታ — For the protection of your people “That is my jam: it was a moment of optimism. And what followed? Between 1974 and the fall of Mengistu in 1991, up to 1.5 million Ethiopians died through repression, war, and famine. “Why? “Because Mengistu believed it was in the national interest to keep fighting. Because those he fought rejected the Grand Narrative. Because war was seen as an extension of politics. “So committed was the regime to its narrative that it rejected two offers from Eritrean independence fighters to conduct a UN-supervised referendum while the Derg still controlled Ethiopia. “For a military ruler, this mindset might be understandable. For civilians—and deacons—it is harder to grasp.” Read the whole article here: eritreanjournal.com/post/the-self-…

ETHIOPIAN HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATOR, PARAMILITARY MEMBER & GENOCIDE INFLUENCER DEPORTED Criminal illegal alien Solomon Bogale was denied immigration benefits and ultimately deported to Ethiopia March 5 by our Phoenix officers after ICE discovered numerous social media accounts where he openly identified himself as a member of Fano, a Tier III terrorist group. Bogale’s posts called for persecution and violence against Tigrayans by “cleansing” them from Ethiopia. Since 2003, ICE’s HSI-led Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center has deported 1,178 known or suspected human rights violators and war criminals.

If you want to follow Eritrean politics in English, I highly recommend the website ‘Eritrea Digest’. @saayEritrea who runs it is one of smartest and hilarious people ever and this is reflected in everything he writes. It’s basically brilliant political analysis mixed with humour.

Every Single Isaias Afwerki Speech/Interview Isaias Afwerki’s interviews always remind me of a Substitute History Instructor who is filling in at the last minute. He doesn’t exactly know what the lesson plan is or what the class had been discussing before he came in. So he starts improvising by giving them a summary of the Single Book he ever read: How The West & Its Local Quislings Are Destroying The World. In the process, the Substitute Instructor (who is also an unlicensed doctor) hooks up different institutions to vital signs monitors and declares them, with some glee, dead. Here’s a list of those he has declared dead so far: • Port of Massawa • Port of Assab • #Eritrea’s Constitution • Govt of #Ethiopia#TPLF • African Union • IGAD • COMESA • SADC • NATO The US is not dead but it is dying, buried in trillions of debt, mostly because it won’t listen to him. He is very worried about them. Everybody is dead or dying. Except #China: it’s doing great! The only other thing that Is not dead is a government that has: • No constituton, • No budget, • No parliamenf, • No Minister of Defense • No Minister of Education • No Minister of Energy & Mines • No Minister of Local Govt • No Cabinet of Ministers, • No Navy Commander • One 12th grade for entire country • No political parties, • No independent judiciary, • No private press, • No ruling party congress, • No electoral board • No modern banking, • No professional army • No construction sector • No Selling or Buying of Private Homes • No Internet • No freedom • No justice • Never peace Now, that institution is very much alive and kicking and if you say otherwise, you are probably Weyane. Wait, those are our allies now so you are probably a plate licking PP. PS: Remember that time, May 24, when I told you big changes are coming to Eritrea beginning the second half of the year? It’s ok: next year, I will tell you it will start next year: I am a forward looking man! Onward and forward.
