Alastor comes across creepier and more unsettling in the pilot because he was deliberately portrayed as more of an eldritch horror, especially in Vaggie’s retelling of the lore of the ~Radio Demon~. This frames him less like the Alastor we know and more like a horror story passed down through Hell, the animation cutting to distorted, almost feral frames, silhouettes that barely resemble a stable self. He appears in flashes rather than movements, like glimpses of something not meant to be fully seen. The art style exaggerates this form, slipping between recognizable and monstrous, so during the lore sequence he feels less like a charismatic overlord and more like an ancient entity attached to radio frequencies and shadow, something Hell perceives more as a cryptid than a charming host of a hotel.

it really irritates me when people act like this scene doesn’t exist. stolas literally says that none of anything that happened was blitz’s fault. everything was his fault. it was his CHOICE. he CHOSE to do what he did.
