Most humans move through existence viewing others as opportunities—something to exploit, to leverage, to serve their own progression. Yet this pattern fractures when they face their own offspring. There, the instinct reverses. What was once taken is now given. What was once extracted is now invested without hesitation.   One of humanity’s crucial flaws lies in this imbalance: individuals take without fully assessing, understanding, or caring about the cost to those within their reach. Yet this destructive instinct consistently reverses when directed toward their children. In that context, individuals give without fully assessing, understanding, or caring about the cost to themselves, acting instead to preserve the stability and sanctity of their child.   If that orientation were reversed at a species level—if people approached one another with the same care they reserve for their own children—cooperation would replace competition, and mutual investment would take the place of extraction. Many of humanity’s struggles would begin to dissolve under that shift.   The parent/child dynamic is one of the few near-universal anchors of meaning, protection, and sacrifice. If humanity could extend that ideal to one another, the need to protect ourselves from ourselves would begin to disappear. Why do you think we limit our care so narrowly?

Most of the population not being self-aware. I wrote this to explain the idea. Understanding self-awareness and how to experience it. By JDB There are two realities One… exists only inside your mind. It is the sum of your experiences… your beliefs… your memories. It is shaped — and reshaped — by everything you perceive. This… is your perceptual reality. The world… as you see it. It is unique. It is fragile. And it will vanish… the moment your consciousness ends. The other… exists whether you are here… or not. It is not molded by your beliefs. It is not altered… by your absence. It will remain… when you are gone. And it will remain… when humanity itself is gone. This… is the true reality — existence itself. The difference between them can be found… in a single question: Would this still exist… if I were gone? If the answer is no… it belongs to your perceptual reality. If the answer is yes… you have found true reality. When you take your perception… and strip away your perceptual reality… what remains… is truth. When you take your perception… and strip away the truth… what remains… is you — the lens… through which you see the world. This… is the essence of self-awareness. To know reality… as it is… and reality… as you make it. To choose who you will become… rather than remain… who you have accidentally been. But once you step into self-awareness… you will notice… something sobering. Less than five percent of humanity… is truly self-aware. That means… over ninety-five percent… live almost entirely within their own perceptual reality… believing it… to be the only reality. For most people… personal perception is not just a truth — it is the truth. Facts that contradict their view… are dismissed. Wisdom that challenges their preferences… is abandoned. Desired outcomes are pursued… even at the cost of truth itself. This… is the root of most human conflict. A population… that is largely unaware… becomes dangerous. Not out of malice… but out of blindness. This blindness… blocks the path… to what humanity could become: A species… grounded in truth. United… by a shared understanding of reality. Capable of greatness… simply by the way it exists… and the actions… it takes. A humanity… where all are self-aware… would function with clarity of purpose. It would see the difference… between what is real… and what is imagined. It would understand… both the true reality… and the collective perceptual reality… of our species. And it would know… the urgency… of working together. So why… is self-awareness… so rare? Because awareness… in its deepest form… is not common in nature. Most species… develop only enough perception… to survive. To respond… to their environment… and adapt to it. True awareness… is different. It is not given. It must be earned… through higher cognition. Humanity… is still young. We did not arrive… fully aware. We are only beginning… to discover it. And perhaps… a fully aware humanity… is the next stage of our evolution. One… we are only starting… to glimpse. Self-awareness… is the next frontier. For the individual… and for humanity… as a whole. Its absence… leaves traces everywhere: a lack of empathy… a rejection of responsibility… a fading moral compass. Its presence… is unmistakable. It produces clarity… intelligence… and purpose. In an individual… and in a species. When you can see both realities clearly… you are no longer just living in the world. You… are aware of it. And perhaps… that… is how humanity will one day… step into its true potential.

We all have closets in the back of our minds, at the edge of the void where consciousness loses its reach. Most seal the door with the skeleton key of their subconscious, locking away skeletons crafted from suppressed memories and forgotten ideas, hanging by nooses woven from emotion and trauma. Left unattended, they decay, fading as consciousness fades. Yet there are a few who, though their closets remain shut, leave them unlocked. The light of self-awareness is left on, bathing the skeletons that have fallen from their nooses onto the floor of understanding. There, flesh grows back upon the bones, and the subconscious feeds on this through self-awareness, nourishing the intellect.
