Arttaca Visits "Thắm Lại" featuring Anh-Phuong Nguyen @___ap_____ at Galerie Quynh, @galeriequynh Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We take a closer look at the work of Anh-Phuong Nguyen. Based between Hanoi and London, Anh-Phuong’s latest sculptures explore the choreographed spectacle of Vietnam's hospitality industry.  She translates the domestic labor of resort towel folding into mesmerizing, mechanized kinetic works. Through these tactile, moving forms, Anh-Phuong’s sculptures expose the delicate, often sexualized expectations placed on the bodies of Vietnamese women in the service world. The exhibition is on view until 30th May, 2026, at Galerie Quynh. His photographs revolve around his young-adult life which in a lot of fleeting moments, relationships, and opportunities comes into his presence. Jeric has been recently focusing on making photographs that tell the story of his growing pains, turning iPhone photographs into, what his photography peers call and label as, "moving" or "depressingly beautiful.". .

Highlighting a curation of 20 artists, the gallery bridges local heritage with an international perspective. The showcase features the solar-etched works of Vicky Saputra, the vibrant, emotive abstractions of Cyril Kongo, and the research-driven installations of Maharani Mancanagara, whose practice examines the socio-political history of Indonesian land.

Caroline Mauxion   The work of French-Canadian artist Caroline Mauxion is deeply rooted in the sensory experience of her body. Subjected to long medical treatments, Mauxion has developed a multifaceted art practice informed by these life experiences to create a site of friction between care and desire.

The gallery space is transformed into a sensory landscape where the concept of Duyên, an untranslatable Vietnamese word for fated, meaningful human connections, comes alive. Walking through the exhibition, it feels both deeply intimate and culturally expansive, bridging historical longing with contemporary identity through a quiet, lingering beauty. By weaving together works by Tường Danh, Như Xuân Hứa, Anh-Phuong Nguyen, and Vân-Nhi Nguyễn, the presentation captures a lineage of longing that is essential to the Vietnamese experience. The exhibition is on view until 30th May, 2026, at Galerie Quynh, Ho Chi Minh City. Image courtesy: Tường Danh, Như Xuân Hứa, Anh-Phuong Nguyen and Vân-Nhi Nguyễn. Installation views: Galerie Quynh

Arttaca Visits "Thắm Lại” at Galerie Quynh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We spoke with curator Anh Dao Ha about Thắm Lại, an exhibition featuring four Vietnamese women exploring desire as progress. Anh Dao took the exhibition's title from the poem "Offering Betel Nut" by the legendary 18th-century poet Hồ Xuân Hương, who wrote extensively about feminine longing and eroticism.

Dominique Schwarzhaupt   In her works, the artist creates a visual world in which nostalgia and cotidianity interact in subtle ways. The artist brings together media such as drawing, embroidery, and photography through which she explores themes related to temporality, family, and biography.
