Mrs J S 45, vegetarian (no eggs) joined me on 12 January for her uncontrolled diabetes, she had Hba1c 9.3 and her fasting blood sugar was 200 and she was on vidagliptin and metformin combo. After a month on the low carb diet (Dlife protocol), her hba1c is down to 7.3 and now her fasting blood sugar is 82, meds continue.

Fasting is not an enemy of diabetes. Often diabetics (type 2) are advised to eat every 2-3 hours to avoid low blood sugar. Most people think that diabetes is just about blood sugar, but it is half of the story. The real root cause - chronically elevated insulin and insulin resistance. Fasting improves insulin sensitivity and lower insulin secretion.

Being overweight predispose to arthritis. Being overweight predispose to PCOS. Being overweight predispose to Fibroids. Being overweight predispose to depression, lack of Focus and tiredness. It you know obesity is killer, why not you change your Diet?

@arunkumar3112 If you get hypoglycaemia that means you have too little sugar. Of course you want more sugar your brain is trying to keep you alive. Protein is good too but you need to replenish your glycogen to stop being hungry.

Avoid morning carby breakfast. Vitamin K2 increases insulin sensitivity. Participants were given 30 mg of K2 MK-4, 3 times a day for 4 weeks. K2 supplementation significantly improved: — Insulin sensitivity index—a measure of how easily insulin can move sugar out of the bloodstream and into cells. — Disposition index—a measure of how well the pancreas is keeping up with insulin resistance. It combines insulin sensitivity with insulin secretion. This seems to work by converting undercarboxylated osteocalcin—osteocalcin that has not been fully activated by vitamin K–dependent carboxylation—to carboxylated osteocalcin. Prior research in rodents showed that undercarboxylated osteocalcin affects the pancreas, insulin levels, and glucose regulation. “To summarize, we have demonstrated for the first time that vitamin K2 supplementation for 4 weeks increased insulin sensitivity in healthy young men, which seems to be related to increased cOC rather than modulation of inflammation.” Ref: Vitamin K2 Supplementation Improves Insulin Sensitivity via Osteocalcin Metabolism: A Placebo-Controlled Trial.

Mr BP, 68 yrs, vegetarian joined me last September for his diabetes and reducing his diabetes medicines. He was on a SU drug and metformin. His Hba1c was 6.1 and HOMA IR at 3.4 and fasting blood sugar - 130. Now on a low carb and high fat diet (Dlife protocol). Now he is on no medication and his Hba1c is 5.4, HOMA IR is 1.2 and fasting blood sugar at 99. Parameters Sept 25 March 26 Hba1c 6.1 5.4 FBS 130 99 HOMA IR 3.4 1.2

Normal fasting blood sugar and Hba1c, doesn't mean you are metabolically healthy. A recent enrollment confirms it. His fasting blood sugar is 90, Hba1c is 5.7 but his fasting serum insulin is above 20 and HOMA IR is 4.6. Severely insulin resistant and in next few months he is going to be a Diabetic/ hypertensive or may be Fatty Liver.
