It’s quite sad how “For All Mankind” began as a utopian alternative history exploring humanity’s continued space exploration, colonisation of Mars and landing on Titan. However, it has spiralled into a profound dystopia, retaining the Soviet Union, the KGB and Niki Minaj.

All your cyber knowledge will soon be obsolete. I’m not claiming to have insight of future events, discoveries, or paradigm shifts, though I might. The nature of cyber is that knowledge becomes outdated fast. If you’re not prepared for continuous learning, choose something else

Big Four Consultancy EY retracted a cybersecurity report "Uncovering Cyber Threats and Fraud" after it was evident that it was built on fabricated sources. The report was pitched to clients as expert guidance on fraud risks in loyalty programmes. It cited a McKinsey study that doesn't exist. It linked to a Forbes article with a broken URL. It managed to claim $200 bn was simultaneously the total size of the loyalty market and the value of unredeemed points alone. EY said it is "reviewing the circumstances". The circumstances include the fact that EY's last annual results claimed 30% growth in AI revenue and noted 15,000 staff had worked on client projects including, explicitly, "AI governance frameworks that help drive the responsible implementation of AI". The firm selling AI governance shipped a marketing document that failed a SIMPLE, BASIC citation check. EY consultants were using the document to pitch cybersecurity services. The content meant to demonstrate expertise was the liability. The report warned that fraudsters exploit loyalty programmes by injecting bad data into systems. EY contributed its own.

ChatGPT has just made a joke. It was funny. It was also super creepy because it was based on the topic of our previous conversations. A very weird feeling indeed

Ran out of tokens and running Qwen3.6 as a Claude Code backend as a result. And it is amazing. Slow, but amazing. It has picked up project level skills and is currently running a bunch of subagents without being explicitly asked to.

It’s scary how truly probabilistic this stuff is; no amount of begging will save you from this kind of complete ignorance occurring once in a while. LLM is not the level where you can fix this, underlying infrastructure is. 2/2

If you want Claude Code to follow the rules, don’t write the rules, write hooks. After two weeks of behaving like an adult, it has just casually merged to main and pushed to origin triggering a full deploy. 1/2

Some entity within the cyber world has the authority, access, or ability to perform any action an attacker desires to perform. The attacker’s goal is to assume the identity of that entity in some fashion. Parks, Raymond C., David P. Duggan. “Principles of Cyberwarfare.”

@thegrugq The principle of Access per Monte around another conceptual unit. Somewhere there is access. Someone has it. This access can be abused.
