New Blog Alert! We are featuring Ally Peccia, a 4th year PhD candidate from Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University on her IODP Expedition 398 experience titled, “Night shifts, drill cores, and sunrises: extending Santorini’s eruptive record on IODP Expedition 398”.

Santorini is an example of a multi-cyclic caldera (a depression formed when a volcano erupts and collapses) and its cycles are characterized by extended periods of effusive to mildly explosive volcanic activity between major caldera-forming events. @NatureGeosci @NaturePortfolio
