Last chance to register 👇 for tomorrow's 'Iron Age to Roman transition in the South-East' conference - some top speakers for what will hopefully be a good day (and with the predicted weather, why not stay inside and settle in!)
Surrey Archaeology@surreyarch

Not long until our Late Iron Age to Early Roman SE England conference on Saturday 8 May! Talks include @CotswoldArch's @Tom_Brindle on 'First (Century) Impressions: appearance, coin-use and communication in south-east Britain beyond the Roman Conquest' surreyarchaeology.org.uk/content/shinin…

@MatthewPope I did very little - your hosting was excellent and exactly what the day needed! So much to take away, in terms of steps forward and initatives to consider. A great suggestion on your part for the conference theme!

I don't often get nervous about event, but about to host a zoom conference for the first time and I cant help thinking about everything that could go wrong.

Have always found the Surrey HER officers incredibly helpful and friendly, as well as knowledgeable - why not apply and continue the trend?

@spmaslin Yes, but loud enough for everyone to hear! I just find it so rude...but hard to ask people not to in some ways. Frustrating!

Bearing in mind I vastly prefer giving online talks in our new COVID world, it really rubs me the wrong way seeing how chat is often utilised during talks - commenting on pronunciations/spelling typos, generally criticising and conducting conversations best saved for the end...😣
