Shapoor Zadran wouldn't speak much but when it mattered for cricket and country he always stood up.. He always took great pride in being Afghan.. Naming a cricket stadium after him will continue to inspire future generations to follow his legacy..

The funeral prayer for the late Shapoor Zadran will be offered tomorrow at 10:00 AM at Eidgah Mosque in Kabul. Funeral and Burial Arrangements for the Late Shapoor Zadran The mortal remains of the late Shapoor Zadran will arrive at Kabul International Airport today, Wednesday, at 4:00 PM and will then be taken to his family residence in Sadr-e-Azam Township in Bagrami District. The funeral prayer will be offered on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Eidgah Mosque, Kabul. Following the prayer, the late Shapoor Zadran will be laid to rest during a special burial ceremony at Maranjan Hill, Kabul. May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaws, forgive his shortcomings, and bless his family, relatives, friends, and the entire cricket fraternity with patience and strength during this time of immense grief. #ShapoorZadran

Deeply saddened by the passing of former Afghan cricketer Shapoor Zadran at the age of 38. Shapoor played a significant role in Afghanistan's remarkable rise in international cricket and will always be remembered for his match-winning all-round performance against Scotland in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, which secured Afghanistan's first-ever World Cup victory. After fighting hard against a complex medical condition for months in Delhi, former fast bowler of Afghanistan, Shapoor Zadran have finally departed for it's heavenly abode at the age of 38. Rest in peace Shapoor wherever you're. Your memory will be etched into the hearts of millions of cricket fans forever. It is to be noted that Shapoor was one of the first generation heroes of Afghan cricket. In the pre Rashid Khan era, Shapoor formed the deadly triplet of fast bowlers with Hamid Hassan & Dawlat Zadran which was a nightmare combo for every opposition to handle in those days. Without the contribution of such stalwarts, we wouldn't be talking about the game in Afghanistan. Long live this legacy.
