a lot of people are becoming spiritual again mantras temples retreats astrology sound baths gurus some of it is sincere some of it is trend but there’s a darker reason behind this wave modern life is becoming unliveable mentally so people are not seeking god they are seeking relief and relief sells this is why spirituality is being repackaged as productivity as wealth as glow as attraction as “manifestation” but spirituality was never meant to be a shopping mall it was meant to be a fire real spirituality burns ego it doesn’t decorate it so i’m happy people are returning but i worry many are returning the way tourists visit a forest with selfies not surrender

funny how harari spent a decade writing about humans being hackable algorithms, consciousness being an illusion, religions being collective fictions for social control. presented it at davos to applause every year.
now AI shows up and can actually do what he described and suddenly it's an existential threat that needs safeguards
