@GlennDavisSoc You’re right; we have great staff in our youth pathway! And we DO have a lot of talented players in Academy and 2nd team but they are young and need time to develop before they impact the 1st team. I wish there was a quick fix, but creating a productive Academy takes patience.

This is wonderful data but what most are focused on is locals getting opportunity in first team, and ultimately putting through a Houston player that has a significant role in first team football. The club doesn't field U.S. players and that may not be a priority but you can see how people lean to this as marketing. So with all this talent why is no one getting through? Are homegrown signings really done with the intention of these players getting significant playing time? I assume the coaches are all excellent at the Academy and Dynamo 2 level. The answer just can't be we need more time. We have heard this for years. These are all legit questions that never get asked or answered. All of this I say respectfully.

Smooth turn, beautifully weighted pass and immediately gets into the box. Dynamo record of moving youth to first team is not good and may not even be in the plan. The marketing of Castilla, Valdez and others over the top but never got first team minutes.

@GlennDavisSoc As these players gain more experience at this level and consistent exposure to first team training, their development will accelerate and the next step will be contributing to first team. Again, this doesn’t happen overnight, but we are very pleased with program’s progress.

@GlennDavisSoc Then, we provided more opportunities for Academy players in NEXT Pro than any club in MLS for the past two years. Last year, we led league in minutes played by Academy age players at 51% of total minutes.

Happy to welcome Ibra back to Houston. Great person, selfless player and a better fit for us at wingback. He’ll temporarily occupy U22 spot for cap purposes and will not occupy a foreign spot. Gives us room to keep making moves this window.

New adds this winter include: 2 DPs, 2 TAM players, HH, Negri (who is also eligible for Supp Roster), Markanich, and 3 HG signings. Toyosi and Exon are on 6 month loans and Seb Rodriguez will be on loan for year at Monterrey. Busy window (!), but still space for more.
